I know it’s time to blog when so many of you start reaching out for updates! We are blessed to have your continued support. Thank you!!

Today we were back in Hackensack for some lab work and an appointment with the specialist. Unfortunately our MM specialist has fallen ill and hopes to be back late in October. 🤞( we actually saw him being wheeled into the hospital while Tim was recovering from his transplant - you can’t make this stuff up!) He is the “ top dr” so our prayers are with him for a speedy recovery! We did get the news that Tim’s WBC count has improved and is in the normal range and his RBC count is rising but is still low with more progress needed. The success of the transplant in terms of his cancer numbers is too early to be measured but we will learn more with testing in 4 weeks. Due to a high risk marker (chromosome 1Q) the doctor is recommending a second transplant. The tandem stem cell transplants are becoming standard procedure for Myeloma patients labeled high risk. It’s hard for Tim to think about that right now but we will do whatever it takes to achieve the much promised remission which SCT research has proven. At this time there is no cure for multiple myeloma but the scientific advances in this area are extremely encouraging! Between Car T therapy and 11 new FDA approved drugs for myeloma, things are looking very promising. Overall Tim is doing well. His stomach is still queasy but the Irish soda bread all the way from NC and the ginger tea from PA are helping him tremendously. Tim is getting some of his energy back and is walking a mile on most days. His positive attitude is being fueled by the unwavering support of so many of you, our family and friends. Thanks for being on this journey with us. It can be a lonely road but it hasn’t been for us. Feels like the Schuylkill at rush hour! We certainly feel the love. Thanks so very much! Social distancing on our deck is the next goal. Call if you’d like to give it a try. Keep those prayers coming.

Love,

The Feeneys❤️
