Day 30

On Tuesday Tim was given an IV infusion of an antiviral medication. It took about 6 hours due to premedications and hydration that had to be given in conjunction with the antiviral infusion. They had him in isolation which means less chance of germs and a more comfortable setup. We appreciated that accommodation. The antiviral medicine has helped Tim. He is feeling a bit better and was able to finally get some much needed sleep. We’re hoping his appetite comes back as he is down 20 lbs, though he tells me he had extra to lose. Tomorrow he will be back in Neptune for a different infusion - IVIG, concentrated donor antibodies to help him manage his immune deficiencies. This should help him fight off the infection he currently has and others he may encounter in the future. He has had this one before the Car T and is familiar with it. All these infusions will help him gather his strength and get his stamina back. Today he walked outside to the mailbox. More exercise is in his future.
