Day 27

I know it’s time to blog when my text messages start to fill up. Thanks for your concern.

It’s been a busy few days.

Tim had a doctor’s appointment in Neptune on Thursday and was not feeling well when he arrived. They ran some tests and decided he needed to stay for an infusion. So a “quick” visit turned into a couple of hours. He was given 2 new medicines to take home with him to help with his side effects. We went back to the beach house but quickly decided we had to pack up and leave due to the storm. We left Friday afternoon and on our way home got a call from the doctor who said we needed to stop at the closest ER because Tim needed an immediate Cat scan due to test results that they had just received from Thursday’s visit. One of the tests was positive for the adenovirus which is difficult for his compromised system to fight off. We stopped at our local hospital for a few hours and the test was negative for colitis, which was a relief. He had more labs done there and received IV fluids. We returned home early evening and are settling in. Unfortunately Tim is still experiencing nausea and is extremely fatigued. The new meds don’t seem to be helping. Next appointment is on Tuesday in Neptune.
